AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player. She plays as captain and striker for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), the highest division of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team along with Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe from 2018 to 2020. [8][98][9] Morgan was drafted by the Western New York Flash at the top of the list in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had completed her studies at Berkeley in the early part of the year. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. There, she made her professional debut and played in the team's win of the league title. Morgan was then just 22 years old. young, was the youngest national player at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 in which she finished second. In the 123rd minutes of the semi-final match against Canada during the 2012 London Olympics she scored the match-winning goals. She was the second player in the U.S. to score 28 goals and 20 assists for the year 2012, which made her the sixth-youngest and youngest prolific player in the United States to achieve 20 goals in one year. She was awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year and was named a FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan was instrumental in helping to help the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was also named to the Dream Team. In 2019, Morgan won the Silver Boot.
